What is VCARS - Lanark County?

                   

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County staff and trained volunteers provide emotional support, practical assistance and an information and referral program, on-site or by telephone. 

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County's role is to assist victims in identifying immediate needs, available options for support, and providing referrals to community agencies for longer term assistance and support.  

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County works in partnership with local police services (Smiths Falls Police Service, Perth Police Service, Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police). 

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County is a not-for-profit, charitable organization, funded by the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, Ontario Victim Services Secretariat, monies derived from the Victims’ Justice Fund. 

 

 

  • VCARS - Lanark County services are offered free of charge and are based on the concept of 'Neighbours Helping Neighbours, Community Helping Community'.
