Board of Directors and Governance 

A Board of Directors governs VCARS - Lanark County. The Board 

is community citizen based and its members are volunteers, who 

either reside in or are employed in the community. They act in a policy 

and governance capacity rather than in a front line,

direct service capacity. Directors determine the direction that VCARS -  

Lanark County takes, deciding the process by which this course is 

set and establishing mechanisms to ensure accountability. VCARS -  

Lanark County has representation from all police services on our Board of Directors. The Board is

representative of Lanark County.

We also have two staff members. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and the 

Program/Volunteer Coordinator works with the agency's volunteers. VCARS - Lanark County relies on 

agency trained community volunteers to perform the majority of crisis interventions.
